2017 NC Summer Nutrition Champion Awards

Are you a Summer Nutrition Champion?

Get recognized for your great work feeding kids by applying for the 2017 NC Summer Nutrition Champion Awards, which will be presented at the SummerPalooza! Summits in November.

Four awards are available:

• USDA Turnip the Beet Award - For Summer Nutrition Sponsors that promote their program and offer a variety of nutritious foods in their menu.
• The Going the Distance in Innovation Award - For Summer Nutrition Sponsors that incorporate innovative concepts to increase participation and encourage a healthy lifestyle.
• The Rising Star Award - For NEW Summer Nutrition Sponsors that have had a superior first year and promoted a healthy lifestyle through their menu and meal site activities.
• The Superior Site Award - For summer meal sites that go above and beyond to gain and maintain site participation in the local community.

The awards will be presented in November during the 2017 NC SummerPaloozas, a series of planning events for summer nutrition programs.

• Lunch will be provided
• The sessions are one day long, from 9:30am to 4:00pm
